Al Bustan Palace Ritz-Carlton Review: The Most Opulent Hotel in Oman
We had visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi for past holidays and felt it was only fair that Oman was next on our list. We wanted a luxury break where we could spend our time simply relaxing and enjoying the Omani hospitality - Al Bustan Palace ticked all those requirements.
Located in Muscat and nestled between the Al Hajar mountains and the Oman Sea, we looked forward to staying in the only remaining former Palace in Oman, originally built in 1985 to accommodate visiting heads of state at the GCC summit and more recently refurbished.
With plenty of things to do in Muscat and the decadence of lazy days spent at the hotel, we knew we were going to have a fantastic break.

Why I Loved the Al Bustan Palace
The infinity pool: Seemingly endless and surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, this is a pool like no other.
The beach: The 1km private sweeping beach stretches from the hotel to the end of the bay and is set against the dramatic Al Hajar mountains. It is furnished with comfortable loungers and day beds, giving you plenty of places to relax.
The hotel interior: The huge lobby is opulent and luxurious as one would expect. Gold, marble and huge chandeliers bedeck the space, and you really are given a snapshot of life within the walls of a palace.
The restaurants: From the Orient to the Mediterranean, the restaurants were of the highest standards both in quality and presentation. Menu prices reflect this so be prepared when the bill is presented to you.
The gym: Well equipped and necessary after the rich food and days doing nothing.
The room: Comfortable and decorated in a classic Arabian style with a sea view.
The staff: Customer satisfaction is taken very seriously by all staff members, and you can be sure that you will receive the highest levels of service.

The infinity pool and the dramatic location near the mountains makes this hotel unique! The beaches in Oman are very clean and here, you must be almost all by yourself. Lovely photographs of the property. 🙂
We normally like to be out and about sightseeing but this was purely a relaxing beach holiday. We enjoy the Middle East, you can always be guaranteed of a first-class service in all properties.
